English 101


In English 101, this semester I would definitely like to become a better writer. I used to love writing growing up but, my writing was awful. I would like to improve my grammar and literary skills. This class is required for general studies but, I honestly would have taken it either way. I failed this class last semester by four points. I was devastated but, I know I am not the best writer. I need to work on the way I word things. Also, the way I drift away from the topic I am working on. I really want to learn how to better my writing and myself as a writer.

College Success

          Six secrets to college success that I need to follow to help me succeed are to do my work. I need to do my work because it will help my grade stay up. The second reason is to always ask the teacher for help when I need it. The third is to turn in my work on time. The fourth reason is complete all work on time. The five is follow all rules. Lastly, do not cheat. I picked these reasons because they are the ones that I struggle with the most. If I follow these rules I can succeed while I am in college. Do not ever cheat because you can get kicked out of college and no other colleges will accept you.

Introductory

My name is Madalyn Roth. I am currently a student at CVCC which stands for Chattahoochee Valley Community College. This is my second semester. Growing up I have always wanted to work with animals. So, I had to choose between a veterinarian or a zoologist. I am choosing a zoologist. I am 18 years old. I have lived in Alabama my entire life but, I want to get out of this small little city and go see the world. I have three pets. I have a dog, cat, and a hedgehog. My dog is an English Shepard mix. We do not know what all he is mixed with but, we still love him. His name is Bo. My cat’s name is tux. He is so fat we call him “fat cat”. He is black and white.   Lastly, my hedgehog’s name is Charlotte. She is one hundred percent albino. Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals which means they are active at night. I love college so much and I can’t wait to see what this semester has to offer.
